WHY ITS CANCELLED

Avonworth Administration’s response to the Boosters’ request to provide information about the safety issues:

There have been consistent, ongoing concerns relative to supervision on band/indoor guard trips.

Members of the booster organization reported to the administration that drinking occurred on the trip to Wildwood last year. We have verified that this did happen.

This situation cannot be tolerated. There is also an ongoing police investigation involving people formerly connected to this program.

Knowing what we know now, we are not satisfied that we can ensure the safety of our students on this trip under these circumstances.
